ABOUT Mackenzie
Mackenzie grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, in a family of art collectors, which gave her a unique perspective on the art world from a buyer’s point of view before approaching it as an artist. This dual perspective has profoundly shaped her approach to creating work that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art and Design, with a minor in Product Design, from the University of Southern California. Now based in Los Angeles, she creates large-scale oil paintings that seamlessly blend fine art techniques with the structure and precision of graphic design.
She views color as blocks of shape rather than gradients, leaving hues unblended to emphasize their graphic quality. Vibrant colors and bold compositions fuel her creativity. Each piece begins as a digital sketch, where she constructs compositions before transferring the line work onto canvas.
